Our Logo
The interpretation of the our logo, the Butterfly, is symbolic of a shield. The Butterfly is the representation of renewal and transformation. Within the top and bottom butterfly wings are red willows stretched outward to represent healing and wellness, all the roots of the willows are interconnected to represent networking and growth. Outside and around the butterfly are red ochre colored rocks to present community and turquoise green background to represent Mother Earth.
The painting by Indigenous artist Dion Simon was the inspiration behind the official logo of the IPHCPR network. This led to the high-fidelity rendering of the original artwork by Asfa Riyaz, an Information Designer based in Calgary, and the rendering of the official IPHCPR logo by Meagan McIntosh, an Information Design student at Mount Royal University.
