Dr. Tyler White (Natoyiipiitawotaan – “Holy Eagle Shield”) is a senior leader in Indigenous health and a proud member of the Siksika First Nation. With over 25 years of experience in Alberta’s health system, he has championed innovative approaches to health services and Indigenous-led healthcare. Dr. White currently serves as Vice President of Indigenous Health at OKAKI and as a member of its Board of Directors. As the former Chief Executive Officer of Siksika Health Services, he oversaw significant expansions, including pioneering Alberta’s first Indigenous primary care alternate relationship plan and achieving Exemplary Status with Accreditation Canada.

His leadership extends to roles such as Co-Chair of the Alberta First Nations COVID-19 Task Force and the Indigenous Panel Chair for the Modernizing Alberta’s Primary Health Care System Engagement. A dedicated advocate for Indigenous communities, he has a strong focus on improving health outcomes and amplifying Indigenous voices within and beyond the healthcare system. Recognized with honours such as the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for health excellence and the King Charles III Coronation Medal for community leadership, Dr. White also contributes to teaching, mentorship, and partnerships that advance equity, innovation, and culturally safe care.
